Famous tourist attractions

Ooty Lake :- ooty lake is a must see for a tourist . It was built in the year of 1825 and spread in the area of 2.5 km. One can enjoy boating and fishing like activities here.

Dodabetta Peak:- Standing at an altitude of 2,623 mts, dodabetta peak is just and 10kms from Ooty, It is the highest point in the district and offers the amazing pictures of the valley below. One can easily see the flat highlands of Mysore and plains of coimbatore through this peak.

Kodanadu's View Point:-It is situated just 16 kms from kotagiri on the eastern edge of Nilgiri range.It offers a great visual of moyar river and the tea estates.

Botanical garden: This garden is just 2kms from the town and is a home of some 650 rare plant species. It is the most visited picnic spot spreading in 22 acres.Th e main attraction of the garden is  fossil of 200 million old  tree.

Kurthukulli Guiness Record Village:- This is the village whish has put ooty so famous and help it to make an entry in the guiness record book for an unusual event of planting 42,184 saplings on 72 acres of land in just 24 hours with the help of 300 volunteers.

How to reach

By Air :- The nearest airport to ooty is coimbatore which is just 90 kms from ooty and is well connected with the major airports . Flights are serviced from Banglore, Chennai and Mumnai.

By Train :- The blue mountain express from from Mettupalayam(46 km) is the only train service to reach ooty. This train is locally known as matchstick train and to travel by this is a really delightful experience for a visitor.

How to Reach Ooty by Road: Good road network connects Ooty to many important cities in Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore.

By Road :-Ooty is well connected with the motorable roads which connects it to coinbatore, calicut and banglore. There is a option of good luxury buses and cabs is also available for the tourists.
