Lumbini:- Lumbbini is situated in the South-Western Terai of Nepal. It is 122 kms from Gorakhpur city in Uttar Pradesh of Northern India. It is a place where Lord Budha was born in 623 B.C.
Bodhgaya :-Bodhgaya is situated in Bihar. It is 105 km away from capital Patna and is 7 miles south of Gaya .This place got its recognition on the map of the world because here Buddha left his foot steps nearly 2500 years ago. The Budha Jayanti is the biggest festival which is celebrated in the month of May as the appearance day of Buddha.
Sarnath:- Sarnath is situated at a distance of only 10 kms from Varanasia a famous Hindu pilgrimage. This is the place where Buddha delivered his first sermon to his five disciples, preaching them for attaining 'Nirvana'.
Nalanda:- Nalanda is famous because it was often visited by the Buddha during his numerous sojourns through Magadha. He delivered and taught several important discourses there.
Kaushambi:- It is situated in Uttar Pradesh, It was visited by Buddha in the 6th and 9th years after his enlightenment. He delivered several sermons here.
Rajgir :- Rajgir is important for both Buddhists and Jains. The nearest airport to rajgir is Patna and the closest railhead is in Bhakhtiyarpur . In Rajgir Buddha spent 12 years and preached two of his most famous sermons.
Vaishali::- Vaishali is situated in Bihar.It around 55 km off Patna. Here Budhha had famous encounter with a prostitute named Ambapali. This incident is recounted in the Mahaparinibbana Sutta. This place is also famous because here Buddha announced his Mahaparinirvana.
Savatthi :- It is also known a Saheth Maheth. It is about 17 Km from Balrumpur. The Buddha visited this place several times before finally making it his headquarters in the twentieth year of his enlightenment.
Kushinagar :- Kushinagar is the place of Mahaparinrvana (death) of Lord Buddha. It is situated at a distance of 53 km west of Gorakhpur, in Uttar Pradesh,a North Indian state.
